ECC to explore sustainability of Ontario County Open Access fiber ring

ECC has been contracted to develop business plans for the expansion of the widely successful and nationally recognized Ontario County Open access fiber model.  Livingston, Yates, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties would like to capitalize on the success of Ontario County.  Upon completion of the plans ECC expects to demonstrate the sustainability of the fiber backbone and it’s ability to expand into these neighboring counties producing the same positive results for economic development, public safety, healthcare, education, and broad band expansion that has lead Ontario County to become a national model. The Plans are expected to be completed by year end 2009 and be a major component for round 2 stimulus submissions.
